How do I choose or purchase a diamond?
At Diagem, we prioritize personal consultation to ensure you get the absolute best value. You can browse our online Diamond Price Guide, then get in touch with David via WhatsApp or our enquiry form. We will prepare select certified stones matching your exact criteria to view by appointment at our secure Houghton Estate workshop.
Are showroom visits strictly by appointment?
Yes. For maximum safety and custom focus, our Johannesburg premises at Knox Safes operate strictly by prior appointment. This ensures we can dedicate undivided personal attention to your diamond search and jewellery design consultation.
Do you build bespoke jewellery or engagement rings?
Bespoke handcrafting is our speciality — and with 25 years as a direct trade supplier and polisher, we bring factory-floor expertise to every custom commission. Whether you bring a reference image or start from a loose diamond, we guide you through CAD drafting, metal selection (Platinum, 18K Yellow, Rose, or White Gold), and skilled handcrafting at our Johannesburg workshop — at polisher-direct pricing. Our Diamonds & Integrity
Are all Diagem diamonds independently certified?
Absolutely. Every loose diamond we supply — whether natural or lab-grown — is certified by leading worldwide gemological laboratories, primarily the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and IGI (International Gemological Institute). You will receive the physical grading certificate verifying your stone's exact carat, cut, colour, and clarity parameters upon collection or delivery.
What is the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?
They are optically, physically, and chemically identical. Natural diamonds are formed by the earth over billions of years, making them highly rare. Lab-grown diamonds are grown in high-tech laboratories replicating the earth's natural heat and pressure. Both are 100% genuine carbon crystals. Lab-grown diamonds offer substantial value savings (often up to 70-80% less than natural stones of equivalent grade).
Are your mined diamonds ethically sourced?
Yes. We strictly enforce and comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). Every single natural diamond we acquire and polish is guaranteed conflict-free and ethically tracked from source to polish.
Insured Delivery & Security
Is shipping secure and insured?
Every single shipment we dispatch is 100% fully insured from our vault to your hand. David delivers in person within the Johannesburg/Gauteng region whenever possible. For other regions in South Africa, we use trusted, highly secure courier partners with full high-value tracking. We do not dispatch any asset without active insurance coverage.
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept secure Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) directly to our company bank account, as well as secure card payments. Due to high insurance and bank-level safety protocols, jewellery collection or dispatch is cleared only once funds reflect in full.
